4 in 10 Girls Miss School Due to Their Period. We're on a mission to change that.
Lady Lydia Foundation empowers girls in Lyantonde by providing menstrual products and education, ensuring that no student’s academic journey is interrupted by period poverty.
Why period poverty? because no girl should choose between her dignity and her dreams
Every month, bright young minds are forced to choose between their dignity and their dreams. In Lyantonde, girls aren't just missing classes – they're missing opportunities that could change their lives forever.
When a girl misses up to 5 days of school every month, she loses 60 days of education each year – simply because she can’t afford basic menstrual products. Even more heartbreaking, 23% of these promising students will permanently drop out after beginning menstruation, their aspirations silenced by something as natural as their period.
But numbers don’t tell the whole story. Behind each statistic is a girl with hopes, dreams, and the potential to transform her community. This isn’t just about providing sanitary pads – it’s about giving girls the chance to write their own future, uninterrupted. Together, we can ensure that no girl’s education ends because of her period.
